Studio Administrator

Part-time position

Coil + Drift is an international design studio based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.  The studio designs luxury contemporary furniture and lighting with a focus on materiality and balanced form.  


Coil + Drift is seeking a young motivated team player to join our growing team.  Candidates should be hyper-organized and enthusiastic bookkeepers who are interested in design and business organization and development.  This part-time position will include client correspondence, daily order management, generation of sales reports and projections, invoicing, and reconciliation of studio books.  The Studio Administrator will work directly and collaboratively with founder John Sorensen-Jolink out of our Brooklyn studio. This is a great opportunity for a hard-working and self-motivated person to be a part of a growing independent design studio.


Skills

  • Bookkeeping

  • Proficiency using Quickbooks

  • Proficiency using Excel

  • Interest in business development and sales growth strategy

  • Interest in object design

  • Proficiency using Rhino, Solidworks, and/or the Adobe Suite a plus but not required

Duties

  • Update, manage, and reconcile studio books

  • Oversee production calendar and manage open orders

  • Communicate with clients regarding open orders

  • Communicate with fabricators regarding open orders, design development, and prototyping

  • Coordinate shipping and handling

Design intern

Part-time internship

Coil + Drift is an international design studio based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.  The studio designs luxury contemporary furniture and lighting with a focus on materiality and balanced form.  

We are seeking a Design Intern to assist our team with the development of new and custom designs.  Candidates should be skilled in Rhino and/or Solidworks and should be self-motivated and eager to learn. This internship will be open-ended with the possibility for future promotion. This is a great opportunity for someone who is young, hard-working, and self-motivated to gain hands-on experience at a growing independent design studio.

Skills

  • Proficiency using Rhino and/or Solidworks

  • Proficiency using Adobe Suite

  • Proficiency using Keyshot or other skinning application

  • Interest in object design

  • Ability to think creatively and follow instructions

Duties

  • 3-D rendering of custom designs

  • 3-D rendering / development of new designs

  • Rendering of technical drawings for fabricators

  • Assist in day-to-day general needs of the studio
